Larache, Morocco The



Larache (Arabic: العرائش) is a small city (pop. 107,000) of Morocco known as the ancient Lixus.


Larache modernizing at a rapid pace. It is situated in northern Morocco at about 86 km from Tangier.

Larache Province enjoys a Mediterranean climate characterized by alternating a wet and cool season from October to April and a hot dry season from May to September.
The liveliest place is located around la.place or central place of the Liberation of Arab-Andalusian style, surrounded by many
ux terraced cafes.

On this spot, the Bab el Khemis defines one of the entries in the old medina.

the vegetable market permanently installed
* the maze of narrow streets leading down to the port,

* passages, houses with colorful doors ...

In the center, Andalusian architecture is often present.

Beach, located on the opposite bank of the river is
accessible either on foot (300m from the main square) with crossing by boat or by car or bus, bypassing the river (10 km).

There are two beaches bordered by a jetty, one with waves that spread very far, and the other closer to the inlet, more calm, perfect for swimming.
